How to choose your first city quest

City quests turn a walk into a game: you follow a story, solve riddles and reach places most guides never mention. But if you have never played one, the catalog can feel like a lot. Here is what actually matters when choosing.

Match the quest to your pace, not the other way around

Every quest card shows distance and walking time. A first quest is best between one and two hours — long enough to get immersed, short enough to end before your feet complain. If you are exploring with kids, filter for routes under two kilometers.

Three quick checks before you buy

  • Language: the quest description lists every available language.
  • Group size: team tickets cover unlimited players on one start.
  • Weather: indoor-heavy routes save rainy days.

Pick one, invite a friend, and let the city do the rest. Your first quest rarely stays the last.
